Frequently Asked Questions FAQ’sAll very interesting, but what should I do now? It’s easy. Just call or email us to arrange an informal chat so we can understand your business challenges and explore how we might be able to help.
What are the costs involved? We’re not as expensive as we might initially seem. Our aim is to bring tangible, commercial value to your business and charge realistic costs. Whilst we can’t give exact costs here (as our work could be project based, or by the month as with Directors on Demand); we‘re sure you will be pleasantly surprised. We bring value for money.
Can part of your remuneration be results-driven?We believe strongly that we should bring results to your business. We’re not here to just lead you in a new direction, but will implement the plan until you see the benefits to your business. In the case of ‘Directors on Demand’ part of our remuneration is based on us getting results for you.
How are the ‘Results-driven criteria’ set out for Directors on Demand? When we start working with you we will agree together a set of business or brand objectives or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These have to be met in order to trigger the bonus element of our agreement. It is essential that we are all clear and agree at the beginning on what we have to achieve.
How much will Directors on Demand cost me?We’re actually quite flexible and will come to an agreement to suit your business constraints and needs. It's important that we reach a 'win:win’. Part of our payment will be results-driven, both short term and medium term. Our ‘directors’ are all highly experienced in their respective fields so you will see real benefit.
What are your core values as a business? Our focus is all about driving business and brand growth. And we want you to enjoy and be inspired working with us.
Here are few key phrases that describe us:-
Because we are passionate and committed to making a difference; delivering real
We make things happen.
I need a re-branding for my business. It sounds expensive. What’s involved?Re-branding may sound expensive, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. It depends on the scale and complexity of the project. What you’ve done already or whether we are starting from the beginning. How much researchwe do to test the re-branding idea and new positioning in the market, and whether that’s just in the UK or also international. So, it’s all down to the scale of the project. We will give you our recommendations on an approach and it’s then up to you to decide.
I would like to become a ‘Director’ on Directors on Demand. What’s the next step I need to take? That’s great. It’s very simple. Just call or email us for an informal chat. It’s important that we make sure our Directors fit the criteria we need and have the same expectations; so we’ll almost certainly have to meet as well.
But firstly, please contact us; to tell us more about you, your expertise, experience and working style.
Are there specific geographic markets where you focus for Business Development? It really depends on the project or brief, as we have expertise across most major developed markets, including the US, UK, Europe and Australia.
South East Asia, Middle East and emerging economies such as Russia, China and India really excite us too as these are dynamic and fast-changing.
Do the two of you actively work on all projects or do you have a team who run the ‘day to day’ aspects? This will depend on the type of assignment. For Business Development, Strategy, Branding and any Marketing projects one of us will be driving and managing the initiative. We are both very ‘hands on’, and only bring in other people if we need specific skills.
In the case of Directors in Demand it totally depends on the functional expertise and help that you need for your business. If it is Sales or Marketing it will be one of us. However, if it is another functional expertise such as finance or HR it will be an individual with the relevant experience.
Is there a minimal duration that I have to commit to a ‘Director’ working in my business? We don’t believe we can make a real impact on your business in a few days, so we would suggest committing to a director for at least 3 months. However, that doesn’t mean we would be with you for the whole 3 months – maybe just one day a week. The number of days per months is what we agree up front. It’s really important we agree a package that works for you 100%.
Do you work in any function? As a business consultancy our main focus is on Business Development (UK and international) as well as Strategy, Branding and Innovation. That’s what we know and do best.
However, for Directors on Demand we aim to bring expertise not just from these sectors but also HR, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and IT. In our team of directors we have individuals with substantial expertise and experience in each of these functions.
Which are the core sectors where you have most experience and expertise? We have direct experience in the following sectors: Fashion; Luxury Goods; Beauty; Retail: FMCG; Alcoholic Beverages; Business Services; Travel and Financial Services.
We have worked in these sectors for both SMEs and large corporate organizations, both in business (B2B) and consumer (B2C) markets.
From personal experience from the diversity of sectors in which we have worked we passionately believe that our Business Development and Marketing skills are transferable. It enables us to bring fresh ideas, approaches and solutions to a business.
