Challenge:

 

Develop a 5 year growth strategy for a leading UK Financial Services organisation and deliver 250m additional revenue through identifying major commercial opportunities.

 

Approach:

 

IDENTIFY: 

Gained a solid understanding of the current sector dynamics; existing perceptions of the company and key competitors as well as current and emerging market challenges. It was important to capture both external and internal perspectives; establish a comprehensive '360' view of the business and industry. Insight was distilled through conducting informal research with key senior clients plus interviewing all the main board directors and key internal stakeholders.

 

CREATE: 

Created a detailed growth strategy for the business. It looked at and addressed all aspects of the organisation - from product and service offer through to client relationships and the internal culture. Not just a case of where to go but also why to go there and how to get there.

 

DEVELOP A ROAD MAP: 

Make the strategy make a difference. Developed a detailed and practical implementation programme. It pulled together all the different elements of the strategy into one cohesive picture and plan. To gain broad 'buy-in' across divisions and drive consistency in adoption of new processes by business units, it had to be clear and straightforward.

 

Achievement:

 

An approved business growth strategy and implementation plan. The Board agreed the proposed strategy, including the major growth opportunities to explore, develop and exploit.
